Its important to note that a windshield with a chip is essentially a broken piece of glass. The chip repair process begins with an inspection and preparation of the damaged area. A patented epoxy is then injected under pressure to fill the fissure. The epoxy is properly cured and a secondary sealant is applied and cured to form a water and debris barrier.
Its also important to note that during this process there exists a slight chance that the existing damage could extend into a crack. Legacy Glass will take every possible precaution while working on your windshield, however, our technician is attempting to stabilize a piece of broken glass. Therefore, we do not assume liability for any extension of the breakage that may occur during the process.
Legacy Glass completes repairs in accordance with the NWRA (National Windshield Repair Association) standards.
According to NWRA standards, a windshield chip repair cannot be done in the driver’s primary vision area.
